The color scheme inside the new Ragin’ Cajuns Red Zone Official Team Shop isn’t completely vermilion, but it’s close.
The Red Zone shop, which is a division of University Bookstore, offers licensed Ragin’ Cajuns merchandise, including apparel for men, women, children and infants.
Everything from jerseys and sneakers to Ragin’ Red seasoning and jewelry lines the shelves of the shop, said Sarah Armentor, assistant manager.
“The huge selection we have gives us a great way to get behind our school and our team,” she said.
Matt Tarver, the University’s branding manager, said the insignia merchandise, and even the name of the new store, “promotes school spirit as well as the school’s name and brand.”
The Red Zone shop is located at 1805 Johnston St., on the corner of Johnston and East Lewis streets.
It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
An increased demand for Ragin’ Cajun items emblazoned with University colors, wording and logos prompted the opening of the Red Zone outlet, Armentor said.
The store’s location provides easy access for customers, who also like the Red Zone’s 6 p.m. daily closing time, and the fact it is open on Saturdays, she added. “People are really excited about the new location when they walk in, and love the amount of parking we have.”
UL Lafayette merchandise will also be available at athletics events, where “mobile” Red Zone shops will be set up inside facilities or nearby trailers and tents.
