Hitting the Links for Homecoming 2005

Fans of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns will be hitting the links on Oct. 28 for the annual Bill Bass Alumni Open Golf Tournament. The event is part of Homecoming 2005 festivities at UL Lafayette. This year's theme is “There's No Place Like Home.”

Tournament registration is at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. Hamburgers will also be served at 11 a.m. The tournament is open to everyone and will be held at Les Vieux Chenes Golf Course. It is being presented by Javeler Construction Co. Inc., and sponsored by Coldwell Baker and Pelican Real Estate.

The tournament benefits the Bill Bass Scholarship Fund and other alumni programs. The format is a scramble with each team balanced with high and low handicapped players. Sign up individually or as a team. Entry fee is $75 and includes green fees, cart rental, lunch, t-shirt, refreshments and a courtesy cart service.

Team prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place teams. Participants can compete for an official Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun golf bag and support the Ragin' Cajuns golf team by purchasing a $5 raffle ticket.
