Relief Drive at UL Lafayette Sept. 8

UL Lafayette students will be gathering school supplies and collecting monetary donations as part of the relief effort for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

On Thursday, Sept. 8, students will collect items from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Rex Street and then from 4 to 6 p.m. in the parking lot at Blackham Coliseum.

Items needed include tablets, loose-leaf paper, pens, pencils, rulers, markers, binders, calculators, Crayons, scissors, construction paper, back packs, socks, underwear and undershirts.

Monetary donations will be accepted. Checks should be payable to American Red Cross or the United Way Hurricane Relief Fund.

The relief effort is being organized by the Student Government Association, the Office of Student Personnel and the UL Lafayette Alumni Association.
