The Krewe of Roux at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is getting into the Mardi Gras spirit with several activities this week including the first parade of the season. This year's grand marshals will be Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns Softball team and Coach Stefni Lotief.

The Krewe, in its 27th year, will host its annual festivities including:

• King and Queen coronation including the presentation of the court and the King Cake give-a-way on Jan. 28 at 11:45 a.m. at the Student Union lobby.

• Krewe of Roux parade on Jan. 29 at 4 p.m. The parade route will start at the intersection of East Lewis Street on campus and Johnston Street. It will end at the Cajundome. Line up is at 3 p.m. Later that evening at 7:05 p.m., Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun Men’s Basketball team will take on Middle Tennessee State University at the Cajundome.
