Human Trafficking in Louisiana

Tuesday, February 27, 2018 - 3:30pm to 5:00pm

Teressa LeDay, Sexual Assault Response Team Coordinator at Hearts of Hope in Lafayette, LA, will educate students, faculty, and staff at UL Lafayette on human trafficking in Louisiana with an emphasis on the Acadiana area.

Leday’s presentation is hosted by the UL Lafayette Women RISE Lean In Circle and will take place Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. in Moody Hall 103/103A. The focus of LeDay’s presentation is to provide information on human trafficking in this area, to share how to support groups that are fighting it, and to educate people on how to identify human trafficking. Leday’s presentation will include a portion of a feature movie on the subject. A recent blog posted on the Hearts of Hope website (http://www.theheartsofhope.org/blog ) indicates that human trafficking is indeed a problem in our local area.

The event is open to all UL students, faculty, and staff.  Eventbrite registration and free ticket are required due to limited seating. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/human-trafficking-in-louisiana-tickets-4322....
