Cinema Studies
You should minor in cinema studies if:
- You’re passionate about the science of cinema.
- You understand how to communicate nonverbally.
- You want to explore the social implications of the cinema.
If you’re interested in a deeper understanding of movies and their impact on society, then consider a minor in cinema studies. Cinema studies focuses primarily on the narrative, artistic, cultural, economic, and political implications of cinema.
Through a series of critical approaches, you’ll analyze cinema production, its theoretical framework, context, and creation. You’ll learn from not only your professors but from the featured films, as well.

Program Requirements
As a student in the cinema studies program, you will be required to maintain a grade of “C” or better in each major course and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better to graduate.
In your senior year, you will complete a senior capstone project as part of your curriculum.
