Guaranteed Admission

In-State Freshman Guaranteed Admission Criteria

If you are an in-state student applying for freshman admission, you must meet ONE of the following requirements for admission:

  1. Have a core grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale OR

          2. Have an ACT composite score of 23, 1050 SAT Critical Reading+Math (CR+M)[earned prior to March 2016], or 1130 SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing+Math (ERW+M) [beginning March 2016]

ALL applicants must additionally meet all of the following:

  • Require NO remedial courses:
    • o Have at least 18 English ACT (450 SAT Critical Reading/Verbal[ score earned prior to March 2016],or 25 SAT Writing and Language [score earned beginning March 2016]) and 19 math ACT (460 SAT Math [score earned prior to March 2016], or 500 SAT Math [beginning March 2016])
      • If English ACT less than 18, must successfully complete remedial English no later than the summer semester immediately following high school graduation
      • If math ACT less than 19, must successfully complete remedial math no later than the summer semester immediately following high school graduation
  • Complete the Louisiana Board of Regents high school Core 4 curriculum (19 units)
  • Have at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale

Out-of-State and Home Schooled Freshman Guaranteed Admission Criteria

If you are an out-of-state or home schooled student applying for freshman admission, you must meet ONE of the following requirements for admission:

  • Successfully complete 17 out of 19 credits from the required Core 4 curriculum with a core grade point average of 2.5, AND have a 23 ACT composite (1050 SAT CR+M [earned prior to March 2016] or 1130 SAT ERW+M [beginning March 2016]) OR
  • Have at least an ACT composite score of 26 (1170 SAT CR+M [earned prior to March 2016] or 1240 ERW+M [beginning March 2016]) OR
  • Meet the in-state student requirements above, including completing all 19 units of the Louisiana Board of Regents high school Core 4 curriculum
