Men's, women's basketball teams to play in post-season tournaments

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's basketball teams accepted invitations to play in this year's CollegeInsider.com Tournament and the Women's Basketball Invitational, respectively, with the first rounds of each happening in the Cajundome on Wednesday, March 16.

The women's basketball team (21-10) is the defending WBI Tournament champions and will make its third postseason appearance in program history. The women's basketball team is the No. 1 seed in the East Region and the lone representative from the Sun Belt Conference. The WBI is a four-round, 16-team, single-elimination bracketed tournament.

The Ragin' Cajuns women's team will take on East Region No. 8 seed Northwestern State at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in the Cajundome. Tickets are available at the Cajundome Box Office. Students with a University I.D. receive free admission.

The men's basketball team's appearance in the CIT marks the team's fourth trip to the postseason in five years. The Ragin' Cajuns men's team (17-14) will host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday in the Cajundome.

Season ticket holders will receive first priority to purchase tickets. These tickets are available to purchase online through the Account Manager at RaginCajuns.com, or by calling or visiting the Cajundome Box Office beginning Tuesday morning. Individual tickets go on sale to the public at 1 p.m. on Tuesday and range from $7 to $10 apiece. Purchase individual tickets online or at the Cajundome Box Office. The first 1,000 UL Lafayette students with a current University ID will be admitted free.
