ONE LAST CHANCE TO SEE TEAM BEAUSOLEIL BEFORE D.C. TRIP

Bon Voyage

Well-wishers got a view of UL Lafayette's TEAM BeauSoleil's solar home last week as the team prepared for its journey to the nation's capital.

The team popped champagne corks during a Bon Voyage event at the United Way Complex and BeauSoleil home warehouse.

The public has one more opportunity to wish the team well during a send off on Sept. 28 in front of Martin Hall. It will start at 7 a.m.

Team BeauSoleil is the UL Lafayette team that was selected as one of only 20 teams from around the world to participate in the international design and build competition called the Solar Decathlon.

The Solar Decathlon is a competition for teams of university students that compete to design, build, and operate an attractive, effective and energy-efficient solar powered house. Later this month, the teams will join the competition's organizers and sponsors in Washington, D.C., to assemble a "solar village" on the National Mall. Visit www.solardecathlon.org to see TEAM BeauSoleil's video on the homepage.
